What can you see when you take our tours?
None of the highlights of Florence are missed out when you take a tour with us. We do not just show you the main buildings in Florence – we also introduce the city to you so that you come away with an understanding of how those buildings are embedded within Florentine culture – which has always been vibrant and unique. With the Florence Walking tour, key spots that we show you include the majestic Duomo (and a visit inside the cathedral is also included in our tour), the atmospheric Piazza della Signoria, and the romantic Ponte Vecchio, to name but a few.
As you can see, our private tours in Florence Italy are extremely comprehensive, but you can add on some extra attractions too if you have the time and the inclination. If you like, you can add a trip to the Accademia. This will extend your tour and will enable you to see some world renowned art works such as the original David by the famous Italian sculptor Michelangelo inside the Accademia Gallery. As such, a trip to the Accademia is definitely a brilliant way to round off one of our superb tours of Florence Italy.
We also offer private tours of the Uffizi gallery, and you can combine these with our other tours of Florence Italy if you are so inclined. By buying a ticket for the private “Florence in a day” tour, you would have a tour of Uffizi and Accademia which, added to the initial walking tour, would show you all the most important things to see in Florence in a single full-day experience.
Why choose our private tours of Florence?
It is clear that a guided tour is a brilliant way to get under the skin of a city like Florence – a city filled with art and history. But, why choose our private tours of Florence in particular? Below are three main reasons why you should pre book a Florence private tour with our company rather than any others.
We offer private tours which are great for families, couples or sole art enthusiasts. By contrast, other tour companies operating in Florence tend to cater for groups of a maximum size of 25 people. When you take a private tour, the experience is much better. Firstly, you get a more personalised and intimate experience which lets you feel that the guide is really talking to you and engaging with you personally rather than impersonally lecturing to a gaggle of two dozen or more people. When touring privately, moreover, you are able to get closer to the attractions on display and also you get a greater opportunity to ask your guide questions about the buildings and other attractions that you pass on your way.
Our prices are highly competitive, as we have put consistent frameworks in place to keep them nice and low. In fact, we created our options specifically for people who felt that a private tour of the city was a little beyond their budget. This is because we want everyone to be able to enjoy the engaging and educational experience of a guided tour of the great city of Florence. The price per hour of a private tour with us is very low: just €60 per hour for a tour with a licensed guide.
How do we keep our prices so low? The answer is quite simple. We retain total control over our tour sales: the only place that our customers can buy tours from is from us. There are no agencies or middle men involved who might attempt to undercut our business or inflate our prices. We use our control over tours to ensure that our prices are kept at the same, consistently low, levels all the year round.
Our excellent guides
We are extremely proud of our guides, and we only choose the very best and most experienced guides to work for us. Our guides are all regularly licensed, and all of them have had to study hard in order to pass the relevant exam on art, history and culture for Florence and its province. We also are well aware that you will get a more authentic experience from a guide who is a local and who has known and loved Florence over the course of their life. So, we ensure that all of our guides were born in Florence and/ or have lived there for a substantial part of their lives. In addition, we prefer to employ experienced guides who have both a passion for and considerable ability in the theory and practice of giving culture and art related guided tours. All of our guides have years of experience! Moreover, so that there are no problems associated with language barriers during your tour, we ensure that all of the guides that we employ are fluent in English. Welcoming, engaging, well educated and professional at all times, our guides love being able to show you around the city and their passion shines through in all that they do. In short, our guides are an essential ingredient in making our Florence private tours extra special.
Relaxing Florence private day tours
Our Florence private tours are designed to be relaxing, without a strict timetable to follow. Most agencies sell the same Florence tours with a shorter duration: that means that if you have a personal request to see something in particular, they won’t deliver and you will be forced to follow a strict itinerary. With our private tours of Florence you can ask for small changes, like to see a particular painting at the Uffizi, or a building/church if you opt for a walking tour. The guide will adapt the tour for you, making sure you get a personalized experience.
Florence group tours are always advertised as “skip-the-line”. Well, our Florence private tours are just like that, but we prefer to tell you the truth: what is the real meaning of “skip-the-line”?
There are three places in Florence where you will see long lines day in and day out.
- Duomo: at the Duomo, group tours with a guide can go through a privileged line. The line is there because the guards have to check your dressing to make sure it is respectful of the church. On average, it takes 5 minutes to get in. If you book a tour involving the Duomo, make sure your knees and shoulders are covered or can be covered with a shawl.
- Uffizi: at the Uffizi Gallery, even with a reservation, the guide must collect your tickets first. This takes around 5 minutes because the guide can skip the line of other individuals collecting tickets. Then, there is an entrance line for reserved groups. It usually takes no longer than 15 minutes to get in. This is due to security checks.
- Accademia: at the Accademia, same as for the Uffizi, the guide must first collect your tickets (consider 5-10 minutes). Then you have to follow the line for reserved groups and the time to get in is quite random, going from 10 to 35-40 minutes (again, this is with a reservation, which is always advertised as “skip-the-line” tour).

Classic Florence tours
You want to choose one of these Florence Day Tours if this is your first time in Florence, as they cover the top attractions of the city. We offer two half-day tours, the Florence Walking Tour is more focused on Renaissance architecture and sculpture while the Uffizi Gallery tour is more focused on Renaissance paintings. Or, you can wrap them together, saving money, in a Full Day Florence in a Day tour.
History and fiction in Florence
Almost everything you see in Florence can be related to the Medici family, yet it’s very hard to find any Florence Day Tours related to this important family of bankers. If you love history, you won’t have many chances to know more. We filled this gap offering a full-day tour focused on the House of Medici, based on the recent TV show Medici: Masters of Florence.
We also could not ignore Inferno, the book by Dan Brown that was also transposed into a film by Ron Howard, with Tom Hanks acting as Robert Langdon. Choose this tour to see all the locations of Inferno in Florence.
The rockstar of the Renaissance: Michelangelo
Michelangelo Buonarroti is certainly the most famous artist who lived in Renaissance Florence and we can’t but offer Florence Day Tours focused on the master artist. With our private full day Michelangelo experience, you can totally focus on Michelangelo and see tens of works he made in Florence, something you cannot find anywhere else.
Art and Religion
The Catholic religion was very important in the development of Renaissance arts and some of the top Florence Italy attractions are churches. We cover all the main churches in our Florence Day Tours, exploring the connection between art and religion. The main church in Florence is the Cathedral, and we have a complete Florence Duomo tour to focus on this monument, including the spectacular new Opera del Duomo museum. We also have a Santa Croce tour that covers the most important Basilica in Florence.
