Uffizi Gallery private Tour overview
The Uffizi Gallery is the most important Museum in Italy when it comes to paintings. Built by Giorgio Vasari to be the base for the magistracies, became the place where the Medici family stored their personal collections.
The tour starts with the Medieval rooms, where we’ll have a chance to see masterpieces by Giotto and Cimabue, that prepared the ground for the Renaissance. Then we’ll see the International Gothic style with the Adoration of the Magi by Gentile da Fabriano, before introducing the early Renaissance and the rise of the Medici family with Cosimo the Elder. You will have a chance to understand why the Renaissance started in Florence, analyzing both the official and the hidden portraits in paintings by Filippo Lippi and Piero Della Francesca, before admiring the works by Botticelli, like La Primavera and the Birth of Venus, getting to know who really is the woman represented by the painter. We’ll go through the career of Leonardo da Vinci, you will be told how the Renaissance spread over all of Italy thanks to Lorenzo the Magnificent, and we will see the only painting safely attributed to Michelangelo.
After taking a breath in the wonderful Uffizi terrace, enjoying the views on Palazzo Vecchio and the Duomo, we’ll move downstairs to continue the trip in art and history, getting to know the family of Cosimo de Medici, portrayed by Bronzino, speaking of the cursed generation of Grand Dukes of Tuscany, to continue with the room dedicated to Raphael, painter of beauty and grace.
Finally, we will have a chance to see a different school of painting with Titian and his Venus of Urbino, before finishing with the man who revolutionized the art of painting: Caravaggio.

How is our Uffizi Gallery private Tour different?
Private tour
First of all, it’s a private Uffizi Gallery Tour. You won’t join any large or small group of tourists, it’s meant for you, your family and/or your friends. The Florence Tour Guide will be at your service for the duration of the tour, assisting you in buying skip the line Uffizi tickets and explaining you whatever you want to know.
Complete tour
Our Uffizi Gallery Tour is not a rush through the highlights of the Gallery, which is what most agencies and tour operators offer. If you want to check a box on your list of attractions to mean “done”, probably this is not for you. We provide insider information, explain in detail the history of the building and the collections, explain why a painting was made and what’s actually represented in the works of art. We explore the connections between historical events and art evolution, engaging the traveler in a discussion, instead of giving lessons.
Fair price
Is our Uffizi Gallery Tour expensive for you? Any agency will price a private 3 hours Uffizi Gallery Tour no less than € 400. Here you can hire directly a local genuine Florence Tour Guide, so you save any agency or middlemen fees, which means paying up to 60% less. The tour is certainly expensive if you travel alone, but it’s as low as € 56/person for a family of five, and if you travel with another family of friends, it gets even lower: much less than any 3-hour Florence Day Tour offered online, and much better than any shared group tour.

Why visit the Uffizi gallery?
The answer can be summed up in a single sentence: this is one of the best, most historic and most fascinating museums in the whole world. The Uffizi is home to some real treasures of Western art including works by Giotto, Michelangelo, Botticelli, Titian and Leonardo da Vinci. Step in to some rooms of this museum and you will feel like you are stepping back into the heart of the Renaissance in Italy, where masters of painting rubbed shoulders with each other and, full of inspiration, created some of the most famous art works in the world today. We firmly believe that these great works of art are for everyone to understand and to enjoy and that is why we offer our rich, interesting and carefully put together Uffizi Gallery private tours.
What will you get when you take a tour with us?
Our tours are unforgettable experiences. We guide you right to the most important paintings that are contained in the gallery, ensuring that you do not miss any of the highlights of the Uffizi. As there are more than 1500 paintings in total in this gallery, it is definitely worthwhile to have a guide to show you where those highlights are located. Moreover, our guides will use their wealth of knowledge to put these art works in context. Each painting and sculpture will be explained in terms of its relation to the history of Florence as a whole and also in relation to other art works of the period. In addition, we provide a window onto the world of one of the most powerful and enthralling dynasties of Renaissance Italy: that of the Medici family. The Medicis acted as patrons for most of the paintings that hang in the Uffizi and they were also the owners of the gallery spaces in which these paintings were first hung.
In short, if you want to learn about the biographies of the artists who painted some of the most famous works in the Uffizi – come to us. If you want to hear weird and wonderful stories behind these works of art, why they were made and who their patrons were – come to us. And, if you want to learn about hidden portraits (i.e. real people portrayed as historical or religious characters) and also to understand the hidden meanings behind some of the world’s most cherished works of art – come to us. And, if you want to enjoy the experience of having a Florentine local expand the history and culture of the city to you – once again, come to us!

Why choose us rather than any other tour company?
We have five main advantages over other tour companies operating in the Uffizi. Firstly, our tours are longer. Most large group tours of this gallery last just 90 minutes. Our Uffizi Gallery private tours, however, have a duration of no 3 hours, which means that you get to see more art works and imbibe more knowledge about Florentine culture. The second advantage is our tours are private. As you will see when you are in the gallery, other tour companies tend to offer tours only to large groups, with a maximum group size of 25. However, we offer private tours of the gallery for you and your family. These private tours are the only type of tours that we offer, and they provide a unique, intimate experience. They could be expensive for groups of four people or less, but even less expensive than a large group tour for a party of five or more. As we said before, we want everyone to be able to enjoy the Uffizi gallery! A private tour means that you have the opportunity to ask questions, to get close to the paintings and to hear the guide. If that isn’t enough reason to take an Uffizi private tour with us, then why not read on and find out some of the other reasons why we are renowned for our tours in Florence.
Pricing and ability to skip the queue
There are many more reasons why we offer the best Uffizi Gallery private tours around, however. The third advantage is our prices. A three hour tour with us for your private party costs just € 60 per hour (plus museum tickets). The reason that our prices are so low is that we maintain control over ticketing. You buy your tickets directly from us rather than from agencies or middle men. Not only does this make the process of purchasing tickets more trustworthy and reliable, it also enables us to keep our prices nice and low for you, our customers. Fourthly, included in the price of a ticket with us is the ability to skip the long lines that you see all too often at the Uffizi gallery. Do you see those other tour groups standing for ages trying to get inside? That won’t happen with us! Your tickets will be reserved and so you can head right in to the gallery and start your tour.
Our guides
Finally, a fantastic advantage of taking one of our tours is our guides. We are confident that our guides provide the best Uffizi private tour of them all, because we only employ the very best. All of our guides are regularly licensed, and they all studied hard to pass the necessary exam for Florence and its province to ensure that they have an in depth knowledge of Florentine art and culture. What is more, all of our guides are locals: they were all either born in Florence or they have lived in Florence for all or most of their lives. As well as having years of experience at giving guided tours, our guides are all fluent in English so that you will have no problems surmounting the language barrier. We are sure you will agree that nothing beats having a friendly, professional, knowledgeable and enthusiastic local person unlock the secrets of some of the world’s most inspiring art works for you.
